Independence Day Message

2 Chronicles 7:14 King James Version (KJV)

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Let me be clear, I am a Christian above all else. That means Christ Jesus is my first priority. That means I follow His teachings and commands above all and any man made laws.

Let me be clear, I love my coun try, I love my family, and I love my life.

Let me be clear, you attack my country, you will have started a war.

Let me be clear, you attack my family, you will have started a war.

Let me be clear, you attack me, you will have started a war.

Let me be clear, you attack any of my fellow veterans, you will have started a war.

Let me be clear, you attack my faith, you will have started a war.

Let me be clear, war is a horrible evil thing. Every effort should be made at political diplomacy before any troops are commited to resolve the conflict. The United States of America is still the greatest nation on the globe. Yes, we have some problems. The solutions are found in the verse that I opened with and a return to our U.S. Constitution, for it to be read and interpreted as the founding fathers intended. We come today to celebrate our independence from Great Britian. A war that was fought over a tax on tea and several other issues. Yet, today, we still have a conflict with the Federal Government over taxes. The more things change, the more they stay the same! We have been debating the gun control issue for as long as I can remmeber. That too was an issue with King George, the first shots fired in that war was to prevent the confiscation of firearms by the British. Yet, here we are today facing the same issue from our own Federal Government.

What is the answer? Lets break down 2 chronicles 7:14

The first part reads:

14 If my people, which are called by my name,

If Gods people which are called by Christs name, folks, this means US! Christians!

Now we have the who, what are we supposed to do? Well, lets look and see!

shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;

WE are to humble ourselves, we are to pray, and seek God’s face, and repent of our sins. This is our part of the contract, and we must be obedient in this or God will not honor His part of the contract. So, what does God promise us for our obedience?

then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

God will hear our prayers all the way up in Heaven! He will FORGIVE our sin, and he will HEAL our land!

How often have you prayed for our nation? How often have you prayed for our represenatives? How often have you prayed for our military?

We need to confess our national sins, we need to pray, we need to seek God’s face, We need to repent of our national sins. This process does not start in D.C. This process starts in the prayer closet of the home. We must humble ourselves before God, bring our national petitons before Him, and we must live lives that reflect the love and loyalty of Christ Jesus. He died on the cross of Calvary to free us from the tyranny of sin. On this day, we must honor those who have died on the battlefield to free us from oppression. We must also back up our prayers with some type of action. That is what will put you on the front lines of the spiritual battlefield. Now is the time to put on the full armor of God and march into battle and begin the national revival that this nation needs.
