Changes in Life/Prayer

As I read the news and watch the news, I see many changes, Sears is closing many of its stores, I see a comet collided with our planet, not to fear, it was a small comet and burned up, upon entry to our atmoshere. This nations(United States) political state is the same- a big mess due to the corruption of both major political parties. The weather is constantly changing, for the worse, volcanoes are erupting, tornadoes and hurricanes are forming, these are the changing forces of nature. On a personal level, I am fresh out of parents, though I am in my mid-sixties, I feel lost. I know that Mom and Dad both are at Home with the Lord, a far better place than this sin corrupted planet. What a joy that must have been to hear Jesus say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant!” Mom passed onto glory a few years back, Dad passed onto glory just a few weeks ago. Called back to our real Home in Heaven, because they have completed their mission here on earth. Well, now I must press forward with my own mission, which is similar to theirs but not the quite the same. It is by observing how they handled certain situations that I, at least have an idea where to begin to handle problems and issues that have arisen and are bound to arise. Though both of our children are grown and on their own, and I am very proud of both our daughter and our son, family issues still arise and it is upto Dad to find a solution, I must admit, at times I feel I am in over my head, that is whne I remember a line from a popular hymn, “take it to the Lord in prayer”. Prayer has been what has given me direction in my life, though my path has been different than most. It is the Lord that has taken me down a different path, and has always gotten me where He needed me to complete the mission He had for me at the time. For the Christian, prayer is an essential part of life, yet, how many fail to pray until they are faced with insurmountable problems? Which begs the question, “How is your prayer life?” Do you want to have a more meaningful prayer life? Follow this blog as over the next few posts we will explore prayer. Lets start right now with the model prayer that Jesus taught His Diciples to pray:

Matthew 6:9-13 King James Version (KJV)

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

King James Version (KJV)

Next time, we will look at this prayer in more depth.
